Rihanna and MAC have teamed up to create four cosmetic collections called the RiRi (Hearts) MAC line due to launch this year. We’ve got all the deets on the multi-season line, and the first look at some pieces from the collection.

MAC has previously worked on one-off collaborations with Carine Roitfeld, Iris Apfel, and even Archie Comics for Archie’s Girls, to name a few, but according to WWD, Rihanna will produce four collections and will be touted as a “creative partner” rather than a “collaborator”.

But as Rihanna tells it, it’s not about the money:
“When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind — for something legit — is MAC. Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC.’ I’ve been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”

It is the first time the brand has worked with a celebrity on anything other than a one-off project.
The first product, her signature lipstick, will launch May 4 to coincide with her Diamonds Tour concerts at the Barclays Center, where MAC will also open a pop-up shop.

The four RiRi [Hearts] MAC collections will land in stores this year.
"Working with MAC, it's difficult to get a red lipstick that beats Ruby Woo, because it works on every skin tone. I had so many different samples to choose from and so many different colors underneath – blue, yellow, orange and pink bases. And I got to pick one that worked, and I tried it on all my friends to make sure it worked on all of our skin tones." RiRi said to WWD

There will be also a summer collection will be sold online which  contains two more lipsticks, a powder blush duo and a bronzer. While the fall collection will land in stores and feature sixteen products, such as lipsticks, a Lipgloss version of RiRi Woo, two eye-shadow palettes, and false lashes. The final installment will hitting the stores in time for the holidays with ten products, like nail polish and more lipsticks.

With such a big name star behind the collection, it’s estimated that global retail sales could hit $15 million.
